Hey Denise! I've finished my room apart from some tiny features! But i'm very happy with it! I never got to paint my dresser white but i got to paint my old bed side table, i didn't know repainting was actually as harder than i expected!

There's also a new-carpet smell in my room which i love! Yay!

The tiny things left that i need to do are:

To wait for my new noticeboard to arrive
To pin that up
To clean my pink dressing table chair (kept my old one)
To screw on my curtain pull holder
To fix on my new light
To clean my mirror

And that's it.

I'll take pictures when it's all completely done!

And i hope you approve!

SmileyinBox Hey Llifie - really pleased you have nearly finished your bedroom.  Wink  Sounds good but can't wait to see it.  Just a little tip for you - take some photos at different angles of the room and possibly some 'close-ups' - say of your bedside table and a few other bits and bats.  Also tell me exactly how you painted your table and what paint etc you used. Have you painted the walls too?  Also I would like to know why you found it more difficult than you thought?  Shall look forward to hearing more  wink

Yeah it's taken a lot longer than i thought but perhaps because my parents insist on doing it for me but they're usually preoccupied with the livingroom and their work. I thought it was hard applying an even layer of paint and without making brush marks!!! Well i thought it was hard perhaps im not very skilled.

My noticeboard is up. My curtain handle is up. But my chair isnt properly cleaned and my light hasn't been done.

Wink Well done Llifie - you're getting there - not long now  BangHead about your brush strokes - A big tip is using the right brush - you must always use really good brushes I know they are more expensive but well worth it!!  If I am doing marbling or decorative techniques I also use a Badger Hair Softener Brush and it takes all the 'brush strokes' away but must only be used very very lightly and don't put your layers of paint on too thick.  If you used primer by the time you get the third coat on you shouldn't be seeing any brush strokes and then when you put your final 'top coat' on - hey presto no brush strokes at all!  smiley

But you are only learning yet so don't get 'down hearted' the more things you paint the more you learn  grin

So look forward to seeing the piccies  smiley

And..... yours Deco  wink and of course I want to know everything about your room too - colours/techniques etc etc  SmileyinBox SmileyinBox

It's absolutely tiring job  Help, I already hate painting walls, cleaning all the mess   Angry2

The windows were replaced with new ones there were so much dust that I had strange taste in my mouth for several days .  Shocked
I changed my conception and chose yellow-white combination for one of the rooms.
When the air-conditioner is installed and Venetian blinds are put on the windows everything will be done and I'll take some photos.

I even don't want to think of the other two rooms that are also "under reconstruction" BangHead BangHead

Here're the fact-hope you can give some tips.... huh

My room has door in the middle so it reduces available space along the wall and opposite the door there's the window, rather large, but it leaves two equal portions of free wall on each side. Iv got a double bed and 1study table and a computer table and and two bookshelves on the wall and also a 3compartments wardrobe. One of he book shelves is going down, and Im buying a smaller less space occupying computer table. The room's size is about 20x20 ft.

I am sorry I cnt post any pics as my camera is broken  CryBaby

ANy advice as to how I can restructure my room would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks smiley

Hi colossus and welcome to fashionchat forums. smiley

It's a pity that your camera is broken cos some photos would picture the room better smiley
The room isn't so small so if you need more free space available maybe you should really buy more compact
furniture - smaller computer table as you think and maybe a lower book shelf which you may put below the
window for example. I'm sure Housedoc could assist you more with some ideas cos she's an interior designer  smiley

SmileyinBox Hi Colossus -  Wav Welcome to Fashionchat forum - sorry for the late reply CryBaby

Well as Deco says it is a pity you cannot take a photo but what you could do for me if you can is to draw a plan of the room with measurements and scan it into your computer this will give me a better idea of what the room looks like.  Also measure your bed, furniture etc you already have in the room.  Also measure your window and door and the space of either side of your window and door. It would also be good if you can mark where your wall sockets are i.e. for plugging in your computer etc.

I have sent you a plan that I would like you to write down all the measurements and send back to me so I can re-plan the room for you.  If you have a size in mind for the new computer desk then let me have that too (if not then send me the size of the one you already have).  I would advise you to take several copies of the plan in case you make a mistake or anything.  Then 'post' the plan back to me.  You can do another plan following on the same basis of how you have the room now as well which would be good for me to have a look at.

If you want to ask any more questions before you send the plan back then please feel free to ask me.  Cheesy
